When a cam belt is replaced, Audi will offer a lifelong commitment to free MOTs.
Those who choose to let an Audi centre (or an Audi authorised repairer) replace their cam belt can look forward to complimentary MOTs for the life of the car, Audi have said today.
The offer is even transferable to subsequent owners for the life of the vehicle, so no matter how many hands your car goes through it will still be eligible. The deal applies to any Audi which is privately owned and spans cars of any age.
The MOT test would normally cost £49.99 and Audi say that the initiative is part of their efforts to make the driving experience easier and make owning an Audi as stress-free as possible.
The manufacturer suggests that a cam belt is replaced at the mileage stated in the service schedule or once every five years, whichever point comes first. It is one of the most vital components of the engine and is put through a lot of strain through its life and can occasionally snap whilst the engine is running if not well cared for. Audi say the results can be very expensive and inconvenient.
Prices are fixed for the replacement of cam belts at all Audi centres. The cost is £449, rising to £599 in engines of over 2.0 litres. This excludes RS models.
