Audi's new A3 goes on sale this week priced from £19,205 to £26,560 OTR.
The new A3 is 80kg lighter than its predecessor and is, on average, 12% more fuel efficient.
Three engines will be available from launch: a 1.4-litre petrol developing 120bhp, a 1.8-litre petrol developing 178bhp and a 2.0-litre diesel developing 141bhp.
The new A3 will be available in three levels of trim: SE, Sport and the top-of-the-range S line. The SE model comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, air-con, SD card and iPod connectivity, Bluetooth and a multi-function steering wheel. Sport models get 17-inch alloys, two-zone climate control, sports seats, a sports steering wheel and aluminium detailing. S line models get 18-inch alloys, xenon headlights with daytime running lamps and part-leather seats embossed with the S line logo.
Sport and S line models also come equipped with Audi drive select adaptive dynamics system. This allows the driver to switch between five modes -- Comfort, Auto, Dynamic, Efficiency and Individual -- to change the weight of the steering, the sensitivity of the throttle, the shift points of the gearbox and the parameters used by the adaptive cruise control system.
The first A3s will be delivered to customers from September.
