Aston Martin raring to go for Le Mans | Motorsport - Car News Jun 2011

On the 11th-12th June, Aston Martin will be putting its AMR-One LMP1 prototype through its paces at the world famous Le Mans 24 Hours race.

The car features a 2.0-litre inline-6 turbocharged engine and will be painted in Gulf Oil’s famous blue and orange livery.

George Howard-Chappell, Team Principal said: “Time has not been on our side in the build up to Le Mans, however we have made significant progress since our first outing with the car at Paul Ricard in April.”

Aston is racing two cars, numbered 007 and 009 which will be driven by Stefan Mücke, Darren Turner, Harold Primat, Adrian Fernandez, Andy Meyrick, and ex F1 driver Christian Klien.

The cars will be raced around the famous 8.4 mile circuit in front of a quarter of a million spectators.
