Welcome to the Afternoon Round-up, our rundown of the day's motoring news.

Alfa Romeo has launched a new limited-edition version of its MiTo supermini. The Alfa Romeo MiTo Live (pictured above) features the Pioneer AppRadio system, which connects to the driver's smartphone, allowing them to access photos, videos and music, browse the net and use technology such as Google Maps behind the wheel. Just 250 MiTo Lives will be coming to the UK.

Subaru Forester

The fourth-generation version of the Subaru Forester will cost from £24,995 when it goes on sale here in the UK on 1 May. The Forester will be available with a choice of 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines, the latter of which will return nearly 50mpg and emit 150g/km of CO2. The new Forester is taller, wider and longer than the outgoing model.

Mercedes SLS

The new Mercedes SLS AMG GT and the SLS AMG Black Series are available to order now. The SLS AMG GT replaces the current SLS AMG Coupe and Roadster models and benefits from a 20bhp power boost, bringing its total up to 591bhp. A range of new standard equipment is also on offer. The Black Series is inspired by the SLS AMG GT3 racing car and develops 631bhp and 468lb-ft of torque. 0-62mph takes 3.6 seconds thanks to a lightweight construction which uses carbon-fibre to reduce kerbweight by 70kg.

Prices start from £165,030 for the SLS AMG GT Coupe and £229,985 for the SLS AMG Black Series Coupe.
