Volkswagen is offering visitors to this years’ Goodwood Festival of Speed a unique opportunity to experience its monster 500bhp GTI Roadster concept car.
The GTI Roadster will make its first appearance on these shores at the Festival, which takes place in the grounds of Goodwood House in Sussex between 26-29 June, and will be the undoubted star of the VW line up at the event.
The GTI Roadster was originally created as a virtual car for the Sony PlayStation video game Gran Turismo 6, but has since been brought to life by the German manufacturer powered by a 496 bhp 3.0-litre V6 BiTurbo engine. The two-seat roadster has a 7-speed DSG gearbox and four-wheel drive, a top speed of 190mph, and a 0-62mph time of just 3.6 seconds.
Visitors to the Volkswagen stand will even get the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the GTI Roadster, with three Sony PlayStation gaming pods allowing fans to take the car for a run up a virtual recreation of the famous Goodwood hill climb course. There will also be a daily draw to win a Sony PlayStation and a copy of Gran Turismo 6.
Joining the GTI Roadster on the Volkswagen stand will be the latest Touareg R-Line, the plug-in hybrid Golf GTE, the Polo WRC, the Golf R, and the XL1.
