The Mitsubishi Outlander was produced in its first generation between 2001 and 2005.

The second generation of the vehicle underwent production in 2005.

This Outlander sported a restyled exterior and upgraded engine options. The model received a minor facelift for the 2008 model year and underwent more changes in 2010.

Mitsubishi started producing the third generation of the Outlander in 2012, ready for the 2013 model year. A plug-in hybrid variant is now available.
