Mercedes-Benz SLS Overview

The car is incredibly fast, and can accelerate from 0 – 60mph in less than 4 seconds. It tops out at an impressive 197mph. This speed is achieved through the 6.3 litre V8 engine and the 7-speed dual-clutch semi-automatic transmission.


The Mercedes SLS was first produced in 2010, designed as a modern day version of the Mercedes 300SL Gullwing that debuted in 1954.

There have been several versions of the SLS since its inception.

In 2010 the Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 was unveiled at the New York Auto Show, set to compete in national GT3 racing championships.

The SLS AMG Blackbird was a unique special edition created for the 2010 Australian Motor Show, while the SLS AMG Roadster was unveiled in 2011 as a convertible featuring a power folding fabric top.

The SLS AMG E-Cell is an all-electric version of the car planned for a 2013 release.
