Kia Sportage Overview

The Kia Sportage controls and dials are very basic. They are clear, simple, easy to understand, and practical instruments. The simplicity will be very welcome for less techno-savvy buyers.

The Sportage comes standard with a lockable glove box, remote central locking, an electronic engine immobiliser and a perimeter alarm. A visual deterrent may be desired but probably wouldn’t be necessary with such a comprehensive security package.

The car’s off-road abilities are as impressive as its on-road abilities. Furthermore, the exterior shape of the model has been significantly enhanced to appeal to those who are looking for a stylish 4x4.

The Kia Sportage was first produced in 1993. The model was sold as either a 5-door hatchback or a 2-door convertible and sported a 2.0 litre engine. It was available with a 4-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual transmission.

The first generation was updated slightly in 1996, sporting an increased length and a larger boot capacity.

Production of the second generation Sportage began in 2004. The model received an upgraded interior and provided a more comfortable and enjoyable driving experience.

The remodelled exterior was much more attractive, and the car sported a 2.7 litre V6 engine which was available with a 6-speed manual transmission.

The second-generation Kia Sportage also earned a top rating of five stars in crash tests by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The third generation of the vehicle has been in production since 2010. It is available with a wider range of engines and a 6-speed transmission (manual or automatic). Moreover, the exterior has yet again been enhanced, as has the safety of the vehicle

The Kia Sportage is a stylish 4x4 that provides a great off-road driving experience at a competitive price. It is one of the safest cars on the road and makes for an excellent family vehicle.
