Ford Galaxy Car Reviews

The Ford Galaxy is a large MPV that has been in production since 1995. The model is a 5-door with a very spacious interior. It can seat seven adults comfortably and has a boot that can be vastly enlarged by removing some of the seats. The high seats make for a pleasurable, smooth ride with good visibility from the driving position. The Galaxy is an easy car to drive and manoeuvre despite its large size.

Ford Galaxy Overview

The cabin is finished in quality materials with a decent level of standard equipment inside, including front and rear parking sensors, Bluetooth, electric windows, dual-zone climate control and a heated windscreen. Optional extras include a USB input socket and rear air conditioning.

The Ford Galaxy is fun to drive with responsive steering and makes for a brilliant family car. It is available with several different engines and with a manual or automatic transmission. The diesel engine options are the most viable in terms of fuel economy.

Background

The Ford Galaxy was first introduced in 1995.

The model had a curvy exterior body shape and space for seven passengers inside. It used predominantly Volkswagen Group mechanicals, including the engines and transmissions of the car.

The Galaxy entered its second generation in 2000. Ford made the model their own and distanced themselves from the Volkswagen Group as far as the mechanics were concerned. The interior was restyled and the engine options were upgraded.

The third generation of the Galaxy has been in production since 2006 after its introduction at the Geneva Motor Show. The model is larger than its predecessor and again features an upgraded engine range. The interior has been restyled with many more technological innovations.

Summary

The Ford Galaxy is a 7-seater that provides a spacious interior and delivers a comfortable driving experience, making it an excellent family vehicle.
