Citroen C3 Picasso Car Reviews

The C3 Picasso is a small MPV that offers excellent practicality and a generous amount of space, given its reasonably small dimensions. There are four engines to choose from, two petrol and two diesel units. The petrol offerings are a 1.4 and 1.6 litre engine, whilst there is are two 1.6 litre diesels. The driving experience that the C3 Picasso offers isn’t the most engaging, but a small MPV isn’t designed to be, and what it lacks in excitement it makes up for in practicality.

Citroen C3 Picasso Overview

The tall, box like shape may not be the most attractive, but it does give more head, shoulder and knee room than you would expect given its overall size. As a result the interior of the C3 Picasso is one of the roomiest in the class and can easily carry four adults in comfort. The boot is also of a good size, which can be made larger by sliding the rear seats forwards, extending capacity from 385 litres to 500 litres, although this obviously has an effect on legroom.  The rear seats can also be folded flat to give a 1500 litre capacity and on some models even the passenger seat can be folded for the transport of longer items.

Behind the wheel, visibility from the C3 Picasso is excellent thanks to the wrap around windscreen and high seating position.  The large expanses of glass that the boxy shape allows also give the cabin an airy feel, and the twin sets of door seals keep out unwanted wind noise well. There is a good range of seating and steering wheel adjustment which makes getting into a comfortable driving position a doddle. The dash does feature some hard plastics, as well as soft touch materials, but it is no worse than the materials used in other vehicles in the class.

Background

The C3 Picasso was first seen at the Paris Motor Show in 2008. It is based on the standard C3 and aimed to compete with other small MPV’s, such as the Vauxhall Meriva and Nissan Note. It was launched onto the UK market in 2009.

Summary

The excellent practicality and good interior space make this an ideal family car. It is bright and airy with good ride quality and refinement, making it a desirable place for the driver and passengers alike. It is considered to be a leader in the small MPV segment.
