The X3 offers a controlled and stable driving experience, with great support and grip thanks to the four-wheel-drive system. The engine is strong and smooth with responsive, sharp handling and supple suspension. There is the option to have Variable Damper Control fitted too, which makes driving a breeze as it monitors your speed, driving style and the conditions of the road and adjusts the firmness of the suspension accordingly.
The eight-speed automatic gearbox is smooth and the cabin is quiet with little wind or road noise, but the engine can be quite loud.
The XDrive 35d's 3.0-litre stright-six diesel develops 313bhp and 464lb-ft of torque, reaching 62mph in 5.8 seconds with a top speed of 149mph.
