PROS: The Audi A4 Saloon 2.0 TDI is a product of eight years of evolution for the A4 range. It has a distinctive sporty looks with a matching smart, classy-looking and spacious cabin. It is an elegant and refined car, well-built and great as an all-rounder.
CONS: Though a saloon, the ride is not as comfortable as expected. The dash has plenty of buttons and switches that are tricky to navigate. This car is quite common and rival cars such as the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C-Class are more fun to drive.

Though lacking the finesse of a BMW 3 Series, the Audi 4 is one fine car. Some critics say the Audi4 has a bumpy ride but unless you are an expert in cars, the slight rigidity is not really noticeable on smooth tarmac. Riding through bumps is another issue though. The buttons on the dash are a bit fussy but the cabin’s interior is stylish and comfortable. The steering seems to handle well at all speed but some say its “feel” needs improvement. The A4 has a new body shell that is more rigid but lighter. This combination makes for a fuel efficient car that is responsive, refined and handles quite well. The A4 has better aerodynamic which aids in the reduction of wind noise. The extra length of the A4 translates to more space for rear passengers. The boot is also spacious with its capacity of 480 litres up to 962 litres when the seats are folded. In this area, the Audi beats the BMW and Mercedes.

The mpg of the Audi A4 at 55.4 is high enough to qualify it for a fine car for weaving in and out of town traffic and zooming out in the country. An Audi is a well-built machine and owners/drivers will certainly feel that they have a good value for their money. However the brand’s image has been identified as dowdy or dull due to its deliberately “restrained” styling. The new A4’s stylish and sleeker design will hopefully remove this negative image.
