If you are looking for a car that delivers performance, safety and style with the must have badge of Aston Martin, the DB9 Coupe could be the car for you. With a gorgeous exterior, a punch packing engine, and beautiful interiors, this car carries James Bond’s seal of approval.

PROS:  Fitted with a powerful V12 engine, the DB9 Coupe is a powerful machine in a stylish and comfortable package, giving buyers quality, reliability and high resale values.

CONS:  The car’s rear seats are cramped. Great on smooth roads, it becomes slightly unstable on bumpy roads and suffers from heavy steering at low speeds. The car is obviously thirsty, requiring regular and expensive refills.

Behind the Wheel

The V12 engine gives the car power of 470 bhp at 6000 rpm with torque figures at 442 lb-ft at 5000 rpm. The car has very poor fuel economy at 18.2 mpg, but with a top speed of 190 mph, going from 0-62 mph in 4.8 seconds with powerful pull from low revs, it delivers as a powerful sports car. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual gearbox and a six-speed automatic with manual override.

The steering is heavy and shudders as you go from lock to lock and slightly unstable when on bumpy services. The DB9 Volante is composed on smooth A-roads.

The front seats are fully adjustable and supportive. Forward visibility is good but the rear window is small which makes reversing difficult without the roof up.

Looks & Equipment

The DB9 Volante’s look is a gorgeous amalgamation of sporty and sophisticated, with beautifully crafted interiors.

The dash is covered with matt wood and aluminium, and the cabin is trimmed with leather and carpet. The car’s tech includes climate control, powered seat adjustment, satellite-navigation, cruise control, rear parking sensors, stereo, Bluetooth, and MP3 connectivity amongst others.

However, the DB9 lacks some luxury kit fitted in cheaper rivals like the Mercedes SL55 AMG. Aston offers the option to customise cars with additional features for extra charges.

Practicality, Safety & Reliability

While the front seats have ample room for two average sized adults, the rear seats cannot comfortably accommodate people. With a very small boot, the rear seats are better used for luggage.

The DB9 Volante has advanced safety features as compared to other Aston Martin models. It has a range of electronic traction and braking aids and four airbags. In the case of a rollover, the front screen can withstand twice the car’s weight, and protection hoops pop up behind the rear head restraints. The car also has a security tracker system.

The DB9 Volante has a three year warranty with unlimited miles. It enjoys Aston Martin’s excellent quality and reliability record.

The car has poor green credentials with a EURO 4 emissions rating, and a carbon footprint of 368 g/Km.

Value for Money

The DB9 Volante is priced at £138,150. It is a worthy investment for those who want to enjoy a car with style, quality, performance and reliability for a long period. According to reviews, the Aston Martin car enjoys easy good resale values and dealer services.

Aside from the initial investment, the DB9 Volante is not a car for drivers worried about running costs. With a high performance engine, high quality body work, and poor mileage, dealer services and gas prices for maintaining the sports car are high. The DB9 Volante is a worthy investment for sports car lovers with fat pockets who can enjoy the novelty of handmade cars, their gorgeous looks and the punchy performance of the V12 engine.

Be it comfortable travel around town or the thrill of speed on a long highway, the DB9 Volante delivers the sports car experience with excellent style, quality, performance and reliability, similar to other sports cars in the Aston Martin line like the Vantage, the DBS and the Virage.

In addition to style and performance, Aston Martin custom building services can add a personal touch through additional technology and/or body work to already impressive machines so customers can achieve the best driving experience according to their terms.

With a commitment to customer service, the Aston Martin brand delivers high quality dealer
services so customers can enjoy their cars for longer. With its stylish looks, powerful drive
and James Bond as a brand ambassador, it’s no surprise that the brand consistently enjoys high
resale values.
