The Toyota Land Cruiser has been facelifted for the 2014 model year with a range of styling tweaks, a refreshed interior and a new Euro 5-compliant engine.
On the outside, the most obvious changes to the Land Cruiser's appearance are a more prominent grille, new headlamp clusters and daytime-running lights, and a larger front bumper which adds 20mm to the front overhang. There is also a range of new 17- and 18-inch wheel designs and redesigned rear lamp clusters.
Inside, Toyota has given the Land Cruiser new trims and detailing and a new dashboard design. There's a new 4.2-inch TFT colour screen which provides new instrumentation for the on and off-road driving technology, including the traction control system and the differential locks.
Although the Land Cruiser will continue to use the same 188bhp 3.0-litre turbodiesel engine fitted to the current model, mated to a five-speed automatic gearbox, the engine has been tweaked to meet the Euro 5+ emissions standards. Performance is unchanged, although the Land Cruiser now develops 209g/km of CO2 compared to the old car's 214g/km.
Pricing and specification details for the new Toyota Land Cruiser will be announced closer to the model's introduction in early 2014.
