There's a scene in Monty Python's The Meaning of Life in which an improbably fat man walks into a posh restaurant and embarks on a huge eating binge.

When he's finally full, the maître d' tempts him with a 'wafer-thin mint' and, after much protestation, he gobbles it down. Then he explodes.

And that's exactly what Pagani are doing with the new Zonda. Just when you thought the Zonda was dead and buried, Pagani release a new one to tempt the petrol-heads of the world.

They are the maître d', and the wafer-thin mint is the new Zonda 764 Passione.

It's rumoured to be the final Zonda (which almost certainly means that it WON'T be the final Zonda) and it's certainly a unique addition to the range. Pagani have not released any official details but the 764 Passione is thought to have pink brake callipers, pink script on its valve covers and bare carbon fibre bodywork with pink accents.

Underneath, the Zonda 764 Passione will be based on the Zonda F chassis but with the engine upgrades of the more powerful 760 RS. No pricing details have yet been released, but we're guessing the 764 Passione would leave little change out of £2million.

We'd have to say that it looks absolutely hideous, and that it would be a pity if this was the Zonda's swansong.

However, knowing Pagani, we're sure that before the Zonda bows out for good, there'll be a few more wafer-thin mints to tempt us.
