SsangYong has released details on its new Rexton W off-roader, which goes on sale in the UK this winter.

The Rexton W is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine which develops 153bhp and 266lb-ft of torque. The power is sent to all four wheels via a choice of six-speed manual and five-speed automatic gearboxes. The Rexton W also has a three-tonne towing capability.

On the inside, the Rexton W has been given a comprehensive facelift, with aluminium-effect and chrome finishes and soft-touch materials. There are seven seats, the rearmost of which can be folded into the floor and standard equipment includes cruise control, air-conditioning, electric heated door mirrors, a leather steering wheel and gear knob, and a CD and RDS radio with iPod and Bluetooth connectivity.

There are two models on offer: SX and EX. Upgrading to the latter gets you an electrically-operated memory driver's seat, leather upholstery, privacy glass, sunroof and rear parking sensors.

Prices for the new SsangYong Rexton W start from £21,995 for the SX model with a manual gearbox, rising to £25,995 for the EX model with an automatic transmission.
