Skoda’s flagship Superb models will be upgraded to include a range of new safety and technology features.

From the end of May, Care Connect will be included as standard on Ambition trim levels upwards. The system boasts automatic emergency call, which is activated following an accident if a restraint system has been triggered and establishes a voice and data connection to an emergency call centre. It can also be initiated manually via a button in the roof module.

The Skoda Connect App will also offer remote access via smartphone, and among other things can inform the driver whether the windows and doors are closed or the lights are off. The parking position function shows the location of the vehicle, and a "Honk & Flash" function makes it easier to find the car by activating the horn and hazard lights.

The Columbus navigation display system is now larger at 9.2 inches, with a glass design high-resolution display.

SmartLink+ now has additional networking between the vehicle and smartphone, bringing together navigation, infotainment and communication apps from the phone.

Park Distance Control system has extended function Manoeuvre Assist which now also detects obstacles in front of the vehicle. It not only warns the driver with both visual and sound signals but also brakes the vehicle automatically if necessary.

New equipment includes an optional massage function for the driver's seat, which also has ventilation and a memory function. Communication among occupants is boosted byDigital Voice Enhancement, which transmits the driver's and front passenger's voice to the passengers in the rear via a microphone in the front. Sound-proofing Improvements have also contributed to lower noise levels in the cabin, with the front side windows now available with an acoustic film between the two glass surfaces.

New 19-inch light-alloy Acamar wheels and a new Velvet Red metallic finish will also be available, while L&K versions gain chrome strips on side buffers and doors and a black interior ceiling.
