Lotus has announced the pricing and specification details for its new Exige S Roadster, the fastest drop-top ever to come from the Norfolk-based manufacturer.
The Exige S Roadster is the first ever Exige to come with a factory-fitted soft-top roof and, at £52,900, costs exactly the same as its coupe brother.
Unusually for a soft-top version of an existing car, the Exige S Roadster weights 10kg less than the coupe at just 1166kg. Underneath, the Exige S Roadster is fitted with the same 345bhp 3.5-litre V6 engine fitted to the coupe. 0-62mph takes just 3.8 seconds and flat out it'll do 145mph.
The power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox; however, buyers may also be able to opt for Lotus' Serial Precision Shift (SPS) flappy-paddle gearbox if demand is high enough.
The Exige S Roadster is available with the full list of options and extras available on the coupe, with quilted leather seats and door trim details available exclusively to the convertible.
