The all-new Kia Stinger, unveiled this week at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, has already scooped its first design award.

The fastback sedan, scheduled for European sale towards the end of 2017, has been awarded an EyesOn Design award for Production Car Design Excellence, outshining its US rivals at the show.

The sleek lines of the Kia Stinger caught the judges eye, while inside is a strong horizontal-planed dash, thick leather-wrapped steering wheel, and single instrument binnacle combining analogue and digital instruments.

“We have made a lot of great cars and I’m proud of all of them, but the Stinger is something special.” said Peter Schreyer, Chief Design Officer for Kia Motors.
