Euro NCAP has completed its latest batch of crash tests, with four vehicles being subjected to the usual barrage of safety testing.

In addition to the Nissan Evalia MPV, which is not available in the UK, the Dacia Sandero, Renault Captur and Chevrolet Trax were all crash tested by Euro NCAP, with the Renault and the Chevrolet both receiving five stars and the Dacia earning four.

These days European and Japanese cars can be expected to score the full five stars in the NCAP tests, arguably making the Dacia's result a little disappointing. However, the Sandero is still safer than the Peugeot 107, Citroen C1 and Toyota Aygo, all of which scored three stars in the tests last year.

Similarly, the Fiat Panda, the Kia Picanto and the Nissan Micra all missed out on a fifth star when they were tested between 2010 and 2011.
