The Mercedes-Benz E 220 d AMG Line Saloon has celebrated its first year on the UK market by lifting the ‘Executive Car of the Year’ crown at the Professional Driver Car of the Year Awards.

Aimed at the private hire, chauffeur, and taxi industry, the Professional Driver Car of the Year Awards take place each November and cover seven categories. Priced from £38,725, the E 220 d AMG Line saloon impressed the judging panel with its package of safety technology and level of interior finish. Powered by a new 2.1-litre diesel engine, the E 220 d saloon was joined by a practical estate model in September.

“The E-Class is a hugely important model for us – it’s at the very heart of our brand”, said Mercedes-Benz Cars UK’s Head of Fleet Rob East.

“The newest E-Class takes style, comfort and technology to a new level, making it the perfect executive package”.
