Citroen has revealed that improvements made to its popular Berlingo LCV have resulted in greater fuel economy and reductions in CO2 emissions.
The improvements have already been implemented in several current production models, including the HDi 75 diesel-powered Berlingo X, LX, and Enterprise, and the e-HDi 90 powered Berlingo LX manual micro-hydrid model.
The HDi 75 engine now offers a combined 56.5mpg, up from 55.4mpg, with CO2 emissions falling from 133g/km to 131g/km. Meanwhile, the Berlingo LX e-HDi 90 manual micro-hybrid now boasts a combined 61.4mpg, up from the previous 58.9mpg, and CO2 emissions down from 125g/km to 120g/km.
The popular Berlingo range comes as standard with Teletrac satnav and Trackstar stolen vehicle tracking, and comes in both L1 and L2 panel van forms, as a 5-seat crew van, in enhanced traction versions, and as a platform cab for special bodywork.
Jeremy Smith, Citroën’s Head of Commercial Vehicles & Business Sector Operations, commented; “These latest changes will help to maintain the Berlingo’s strong sales performance. In the first three quarters of this year, the Berlingo showed a year-on-year sales growth of 14% to 12,283. We expect that this popular model will deliver one of its best-ever sales results in 2014, reflecting its strong appeal to businesses both large and small.”
