BMW has released the first official pictures of its new X6 M Design Edition on its official Facebook page.
The BMW X6 M Design Edition will have a limited production run of just 500 units; however, BMW has yet to confirm when and if the car will go on sale in the UK or how much it will cost. We do, however, expect it to carry a significant premium over the standard £86,220 X6 M.
Based on the standard X6 M, the X6 M Design Edition gets a number of exclusive design features both inside and out. At the front end you'll find a carbon-fibre front splitter and a matte black grille, while a cursory glance at the back reveals a carbon-fibre rear spoiler and a rear diffuser. The car sits on 21-inch lightweight alloy wheels and M Performance stripes can be added as optional extras.
On the inside, the dashboard comes wrapped in black and Mugello Red leather with contrasting stitching, a theme which is continued on the seats. Piano Black trim also comes as standard, as does an individually-numbered plaque.
Underneath, the BMW X6 M Edition is mechanically identical to the standard car, with a 555bhp 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 propelling the car from 0-62mph in 4.7 seconds and on to an electronically-limited top speed of 155mph.
