The new Audi Q5 has passed Euro NCAP crash testing with flying colours.

The organisation have revealed the second generation of Audi’s popular SUV achieved the full five stars for safety, performing strongly in every section of the test including occupant protection, child safety, and pedestrian protection. The Q5’s standard driver assistance features, including pre sense city emergency braking system, helped the model gain top marks.

Weight saving construction techniques have seen the new Q5 tip the scales at up to 90kg less than its predecessor, although this has clearly not compromised its strength in crash testing.
