Audi has released the pricing and specification details for the new saloon version of the A3, which goes on sale in the UK this week.
Three engines will be offered in the A3 saloon from launch, the least powerful of which will be a 138bhp 1.4-litre TFSI petrol model which returns a combined 60.1mpg and emits just 109g/km.
Moving up the range, the 1.8-litre TFSI petrol produces 177bhp and returns 49.6 and CO2 emissions of 129g/km.
Also available will be a 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine which develops 148bhp, returns 67.3mpg and emits 107g/km of CO2.
The engine range is expected to expand shortly after the model's launch with the addition of a 1.6-litre diesel engine and a more powerful version of the 2.0-litre oil burner.
Two trim levels will be on offer: Sport and S line. S line models cost £2150 more than their Sport equivalents but get 18-inch wheels in place of the Sport's 17-inchers, as well as S line body styling, xenon headlights and an S line multi-function sports steering wheel.
Prices for the new Audi A3 saloon start from £24,305 for the basic 1.4-litre petrol in Sport trim, rising to £28,105 for the 1.8-litre petrol in S line specification.
