The new Alfa Romeo Giulia has received a boost ahead of its autumn UK sales launch by netting top marks in Euro NCAP testing.

The Giulia earned a five-star rating, including a record score of 98% for adult occupant protection. An Integrated Brake System, which significantly reduces braking distance, is included on all Giulia’s, as is Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Brake with pedestrian detection. Using radar sensors the system can stop the Giulia autonomously at speeds up to 60km/h if an obstacle is detected.

Other standard safety equipment includes Lane Departure Warning and Blind Spot Monitoring with optional Rear Cross Path Detection.
