Skoda has unveiled the new facelifted Skoda Yeti ahead of its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.

And for the first time the Czech firm is splitting the range in two, giving buyers a choice of two new variants: a 'city' edition and an 'outdoor' version.

The city edition, as the new would suggest, is geared more towards urban use and features colour-coded bumpers and side-mouldings, while the outdoor model is tailored more towards rural use, with tough black plastic bumpers providing a more utilitarian look.

Skoda has also given the Yeti a thorough mid-life facelift, with the most obvious changes being the revised front end with new rectangular headlamps and a new grille. There are also new front fog lights and tweaked taillights at the rear, and Skoda's new badge is also fitted to the Yeti for the first time.

The revised Yeti range also gets several new alloy wheel options and four new paint colours, while on the inside a new steering wheel, new dashboard trim and new seat fabric options are also offered.

The Yeti's engine line-up is carried over from the old model unchanged but the 104bhp 1.6-litre diesel is available for the first time with the seven-speed DSG gearbox and the 168bhp 2.0-litre diesel can now be specified with all-wheel drive and a six-speed auto 'box.

The new Yeti will go on sale next year.
