A 1955 Aston Martin DB3S, one of only 21 ever built, is expected to sell for £2.5million when it goes up for auction next month.

The car was first owned by Dutch racing driver Hans Davids -- hence the colour scheme -- who raced it during the 1950s before shipping it to the USA.

The car goes under the hammer on 17th August at RM Auction in Monterey, California.

The DB3S is widely regarded by classic car enthusiasts to be 'one of the most attractive and elegantly designed sports racing cars of the post war period.' It's fitted with a 3.0-litre Lagonda straight-six engine which develops around 210bhp.

We'd have to say that the DB3S is absolutely stunning and, if anything, the garish paint job makes it even more desirable.

If only we had a spare £2.5million...
