Peugeot 3008 Overview

The Peugeot 3008 is marketed towards families offering much in the way of versatility and practicality. It was awarded ‘Car of the Year’ by What Car? in 2010.

Background

The Peugeot 3008 was introduced to the market in 2009 as a compromise between a hatchback and a 4x4 offering the benefits of both. It is very closely associated to the Citroen C4, the Citroen Berlingo and other Peugeot models such as the Peugeot 307 and the Peugeot 308.

A number of the engines are HDi FAP engines, which were first introduced in 2000 with the 607 model . This sort of engine has received a lot of praise as it lowers fuel consumption yet performance is still of a high level.

The 1.6 HDi is probably the most favoured option as it offers a good amount of power and performance, yet it remains refined and economical. The 3008 also features a Heads Up Display which is projected on the windscreen.

There is also a Hybrid version in the pipeline called the Hybrid4 which is expected in 2012.

Summary

The Peugeot 3008 was put into production in 2009 and offers a lot to its owner. It is spacious and bigger than a hatchback yet not too big to make it a struggle around the city. It has a good range of very decent economical engines and is very practical.
