The Ferrari F12 berlinetta 2dr is about as luxurious and prestigious as it gets – even for supercars. Every part of the vehicle has been beautifully designed and the driving experience on offer is an incredibly fun one. The steering is a little too light however and if you want to upgrade with optional extras they’ll cost you a small fortune. It’s also very expensive to fuel.

PROS:  The F12 berlinetta is incredibly fast and delivers superb performance on the road. It is a joy to drive and it looks superb both inside and out, with a spacious cabin.

CONS:  The model is incredibly pricey even by supercar standards, and running costs are about as expensive as they come too. The steering is a little too light in places.

Behind the Wheel

The Ferrari F12’s huge 6.3 litre V12 engine produces a 730bhp and 508lb-ft of torque which makes for rapid acceleration. The model can reach 62mph from a standstill in just 3.1 seconds, while it tops out at an incredible 211mph. A 7-speed double clutch, paddle shift transmission is mated to the engine and moves up through the gears swiftly and smoothly. Handling of the car is superb; the steering is sharp and well-weighted while road grip is excellent. This allows it to glide through corners effortlessly with minimal body roll.

As you’d expect the exhilarating driving experience comes with a ride which is rather firm, although it is not too harsh and never gets too uncomfortable. Refinement is very impressive for a vehicle which can make as much noise as the F12. The initial roar of the engine as you accelerate becomes subdued on the motorway, and wind noise is well suppressed.

Looks & Equipment

The Ferrari F12 berlinetta 2dr is a stunning sports car which has been sculpted with smooth and sleek lines. Its interior has been crafted with materials of a high quality and all the instruments are neatly arranged.

For the amount of money that the F12 is on offer for you could be forgiven for expecting every piece of equipment you can think of to be included as standard. This is not the case however, and although you do get features including leather upholstery, satellite navigation and carbon brakes, you could spend tens of thousands of pounds on some of the optional extras.

Practicality, Safety & Reliability

Practicality isn’t one of the Ferrari F12 berlinetta 2dr’s strong points, but there is plenty of space inside the cabin and for its class the F12 impresses; both occupants have ample headroom and legroom. Moreover, the boot is actually a very roomy offering with 320 litres of space which can be extended to 500 litres by removing the rear shelf.

In terms of safety, the most positive aspect of the F12 berlinetta is its ability to avoid an accident in the first place, down to superb brakes and driveability. Reliability is strong and the first seven years of servicing costs is thrown in for free.

Value for Money

Coming in at a whopping £239,317, the Ferrari F12 berlinetta 2dr is undoubtedly a car for the incredibly wealthy. Even disregarding the fact that this is a high-performance sports car, the model is still an expensive one and many rivals are cheaper. Fortunately residuals should be high.

Don’t expect running costs to ease the strain on your bank balance either – with 350g/km of CO2 emissions you’ll be paying maximum road tax. An average fuel economy of 18.8mpg will mean regular trips to the petrol station too.
