MINI have launched a new special edition Convertible, the MINI Highgate.
Continuing the brand's recent tradition of naming special edition models after areas of London, the new Convertible has been christened the MINI Highgate. It is the third special edition model launched by MINI this spring, joining the recently announced MINI Baker Street and MINI Bayswater.
The MINI Highgate is finished as standard with a newly-created Iced Chocolate metallic paint, although Midnight Black Metallic and White Silver Metallic can be specified as options. Its tailored-fabric roof is finished in a shade called Sivertouched Truffle, and the body colour is complemented by blue-edged truffle body stripes.
The new MINI Highgate gets unique 17-inch aluminium-effect alloy wheels which, claim MINI, take their design inspiration from the Union Jack.
Reflecting the exterior, inside the car are Dark Truffle Lounge Leather seats with blue piping. The standard equipment level for the Highgate comes from MINI's Chili Pack, which includes air conditioning, Bluetooth with USB connectivity, multi-function steering wheel, and multi-colour interior lights. The dashboard also boasts Brushed Alloy detailing.
Highgate lettering is found on the side indicator surrounds, door sills and seat tags.
The new model has a choice of four engines, with the MINI Cooper Highgate Convertible having a 122bhp petrol unit, while the MINI Cooper S Highgate Convertible comes with a 184bhp petrol engine. The two diesel options are the 112bhp MINI Cooper D Highgate Convertible and the 143bhp MINI Cooper SD Highgate Convertible.
On-the-road prices range from £21,300 for the MINI Cooper Highgate Convertible, rising to £26,050 for the MINI Cooper SD Highgate Convertible Auto.
