Volkswagen is fitting DAB radios to all of its models from the Polo to the Phaeton.

Although the digital radio switchover is not predicted to take place until 2019, VW is preparing most of its passenger car line-up for the change, with all models except the up! city car getting digital radio.

VW has stressed that all models with DAB radio will still be able to pick up traditional FM and AM frequencies and has highlighted that all models with have an aux-in socket, allowing iPods and MP3 players to connect the cars' inbuilt stereos.

Every model from the Polo S upwards is now fitted with at least six speakers as standard, with most fitted with eight.

The new DAB-equipped VWs are available to order now.
