Volvo has announced the launch of two further models featuring its emissions-cutting DRIVe technology.

The new 1.6-litre diesel powered Volvo S60 DRIVe produces CO2 emissions of just 114g/km. Fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox, the S60 DRIVe returns a combined 65.7mpg. The V60 DRIVe, which comes with the same engine and gearbox, produces 119g/km of CO2 emissions and has a combined fuel economy of 62.8mpg.

These figures ensure both models fall beneath the 120g/km threshold to exempt them from first year road tax, and just £30 per year road tax thereafter. Of further interest to company car buyers is a figure of £52 and £58 per month in Benefit in Kind payments for 20% rate taxpayers, for the S60 DRIVe ES and V60 DRIVe ES respectively.

The Volvo S60 DRIVe ES has a starting price of £23,495, and production of both new models will commence in February, with customer deliveries anticipated for April. The new models join five already in the DRIVe range, with the London Congestion Charge beating C30, S40 and V50, along with the XC60 and XC70. Volvo has announced plans to extend its range of DRIVe models further with the introduction of V70 and S80 DRIVe models this spring.
