The first pictures of the new Volvo XC90 R-Design have been released by the Swedish manufacturer.
The release of the R-Design version of the all new XC90 follows hot on the heels of the First Edition model released earlier in the month, of which all 1,927 individually numbered examples sold out in less than two days.
The new XC90 R-Design boasts a number of distinguishing exterior features, with unique grille, front spoiler, silk metal window surround, integrated dual exhausts, silver roof rails, silver matt mirror covers, and a choice of 20-inch or 22-inch alloy wheels. Inside the XC90 R-Design are Nubuck perforated leather Contour sports seats, gearshift paddles, as well as R-Design detailed pedals, floor mats, and illuminated tread plates. A tablet-inspired touch-screen with a 12.3-inch graphical display is found in centre console of a car Volvo claims is virtually button free, providing access to a range of internet and cloud based products and services. The XC90 R-Design is powered by Volvo’s new Drive-E range of engines which offer up to 400bhp.
R-Design is created for people with a passion for things that add spice to life,” said Alain Visser, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Sales and Customer Service of Volvo Car Group. “It appeals to customers that love active driving and a personal, expressive design. Every single R-Design detail is designed to contribute to the individualistic and refined expression these customers desire.”
