The fourth Volvo Ocean Race, one of the toughest sailing events in the world, is being celebrated by its sponsor through the production of three themed special edition cars.
With a sailing inspired leather upholstery in beige and black, and a choice of Volvo Ocean Blue II or Electric Silver colours, and embossed race logos on the front seat backrests ,the new special edition cars will have a distinctively Ocean Race inspired design on the interior.
And the exterior doesn’t escape from this special treatment either, with the Volvo Ocean Race emblem featuring on the front wings along with a chrome trim and distinctive new alloys on the wheels.
The new cars will be special editions of the V60, XC60 and XC70 models. There has been no news as of yet about what engines and specifications we can expect the cars to have, but the company has announced that they will go on sale from next month, and that they expect to sell 7,500 units to buyers across the globe.
The event itself will kick off on 29th October in Alicante, Spain, and end up in Galway, Ireland, on the 7th of July.
