The brand new Volkswagen Passat Alltrack, primarily based on the Volkswagen Passat Estate, will be available in showrooms across the UK from the 28th May this year.
The new vehicle will be fully equipped with a range of features, including Alcantara upholstery, 2Zone electronic climate control, RNS 315 touchscreen satellite navigation, DAB radio, MDI iPod connectivity, Bluetooth telephone preparation, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system and 18-inch Canyon alloy wheels. The new model will also be equipped with 4MOTION four-wheel drive and raised ride height.
Additional features in the car's armoury will include climate seats with a massage function; High Beam Assist, which automatically controls dipping of the headlights; Side Scan Lane Change Assist, which monitors the vehicle's blind spot; Lane Assist; ACC Adaptive Chassis Control and Automatic Distance Control with City Emergency Braking function.
Consumers will be able to choose from two separate drivetrains: a 2.0-litre TDI 138bhp unit with a six-speed manual gearbox, on sale from £28,475, and a 2.0-litre TDI 168bhp with a six-speed DSG transmission, with a starting price of £31,025.
The vehicle will also have a towing capacity of 2,000 kg and an electrically deployed towbar.
"These features endow the Passat Alltrack with the practicality of an estate car and much of the versatility of a conventional 4x4, while a high standard specification level adds more than a touch of luxury," according to an official Volkswagen statement.
The on-board equipment also includes a Driver Alert System. This innovative device is designed to monitors the driver's responses to raise awareness of fatigue.
