Volkswagen has added a new flagship 'Highline' model to its Passat and Passat Estate ranges.
The Highline model replaces the old SE trim and comes with a range of new standard equipment.
New features included as standard on the Passat Highline include a touchscreen sat-nav, front and rear parking sensors, dual-zone climate control and 17-inch 'Sao Paolo' alloy wheels. The new models also come as standard with DAB digital radio, Bluetooth, cruise control, flat tyre indicator, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, electrically-adjustable driver's seat, and Driver Alert System which monitors the driver for signs of fatigue.
Volkswagen claims that the new features included on the Passat Highline add £1,680 worth of value to the car, yet the Highline costs just £500 more than the equivalent base-spec S model.
Both the saloon and the estate are available with a range of engines including a 1.4-litre TSI petrol with 120bhp, a 1.8-litre TSI petrol with 158bhp, a 1.6-litre TDI diesel with 104bhp, and a 138bhp 2.0-litre TDI diesel.
Prices for the Passat Highline start at £20,970 for the saloon and £22,385 for the estate.
