Volkswagen Group UK Ltd has broken its own previous best by passing the half-a-million mark for year-to-date sales.

The group includes Volkswagen passenger cars and commercial vehicles, as well as the Audi, SEAT, and Skoda brands.  The magic 500,000th vehicle to be registered was a Phantom Black SEAT Ibiza SC FR, which was handed over personally by SEAT UK Director Neil Williamson to new owner Nathan Thomas-Robinson as the company’s Bristol Street Motors dealership in Birmingham.
Volkswagen Group UK Managing Director Paul Willis, enjoying a spectacular first year at the helm, reacted to the news by saying:  "Reaching half a million sales is a fantastic achievement for the Group and the result of some strong performances by all the five brands this year."
"The market has been tough but through intelligent planning, strong product line-ups and a great effort by our networks, we’ve achieved this sales record.  We’re likely to finish 2014 with well above 500,000 sales, a result of which we can all be proud."
"I’m delighted to have been at the helm of the Group in this record-breaking year, and we are looking forward to another successful year in 2015."
