Volkswagen has updated its Amarok pick-up truck, with improved economy, lower emissions and new options.
The Amarok 2.0-litre BiTDI diesel has also been given VW's BlueMotion Technology, which uses stop-start, regenerative braking and low rolling-resistance tyres to achieve CO2 emissions of just 199g/km and a combined fuel economy figure of 37.2mpg.
VW has also managed to screw another 17bhp out of the 2.0-litre BiTDI's engine, bringing the total up to 178bhp. The entry-level 2.0-litre TDI engine remains the same, producing 121bhp.
All models come with four-wheel drive as standard, and all are offered with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Options include Bluetooth connectivity, front and rear parking sensors, 19-inch alloys, heated washer jets and cornering fog lamps.
Prices for the new Amarok range from £18,795 for the entry-level 2.0 TDI Startline model, to £25,105 for the top-of-the-range 2.0 BiTDI BlueMotion Highline version.
The new Volkswagen Amarok is available to order now.
