Vauxhall have confirmed they will be resurrecting the Viva name for a new model it plans to launch sometime next summer.
The Viva badge will be applied to an all-new five-door entry-level model which will expand the choice in Vauxhall’s small car range, which already boasts the ADAM and Corsa supermini.
The Viva name was last used on a popular range of small family cars produced by Vauxhall at its Ellesmere Port plant in the 60s and 70s, which sold over 1.5million examples over three-generations of the model.
The new Vauxhall Viva will come as a five-door with either four or five seats, with a range of trim and equipment levels. Vauxhall say the model will be combine modern styling with practicality, durability, and an attractive pricing structure.
“This bold, radical name will attract attention and engender curiosity in the car,” said Peter Hope, Vauxhall’s Marketing Director.
