Vauxhall's new Corsa EcoFLEX emits just 88g/km of CO2, making it the greenest Vauxhall diesel yet.
In three-door form, the new Corsa 95PS 1.3 CDTI EcoFLEX returns a claimed 85.6mpg on the combined cycle, while emitting 88g/km of CO2, making it 2.4mpg more frugal and 6g/km less polluting than its predecessor.
The five door model averages 83.1mpg and emits 89g/km of CO2.
A number of enhancements have been made to the Corsa EcoFLEX to achieve these improvements, including the fitment of a variable displacement oil pump which only delivers the necessary oil pressure. The new car also gets special low-viscosity transmission oil which also contributes to efficient fuel consumption, along with an ECU remap.
From next month, the Corsa will be available with a new manual gearbox which Vauxhall claims offers a more precise and smooth gear action, and low-rolling-resistance tyres.
Vauxhall has also improved the suspension and damper settings across the Corsa range (the VXR Nurburgring edition excluded) to improve ride comfort.
