Vauxhall have simplified the Corsa range and will offer fewer trims and models.
The new models will be available for purchase from 8th October and the cheapest option will cost only £8,995 on the road, this represents reductions of up to £3,000 on the outgoing version of the popular small car. However, Vauxhall assure the market that this reduction in price is not reflective of a lower standard of quality; on the contrary they say that quality and levels of equipment have improved.
A new 1.0 litre ECOTEC (115PS) engine will be offered in the Sting R trim for just £10,995; Vauxhall boast that it can achieve 0-62mph in 10.4 seconds and produce torque of 170Nm at 1,800 rpm. The Sting R is one of a set of nine trim levels which build a range of around half as many models as before. All Corsa trim levels are claimed to come with a high standard specification including 16 inch alloys and heated seats at the higher end of the range.
Tim Tozer is the Managing Director at Vauxhall and he said ‘The all-new Corsa range offers the perfect combination of refreshed design, class-leading specification, vastly improved driving dynamics and cutting-edge power train technology and if that wasn’t enough, customers can save close to £3,000 versus the outgoing model.’
