Vauxhall has given its Astra hatchback and Sport Tourer a mid-life facelift, as well as introducing a new 192bhp twin-turbo diesel to the GTC range.
You'll have to be a bit of a petrolhead -- or more likely, a bit of an anorak -- to spot the changes, however. The new cars get a new front grille, new indicators and new fog lamps alongside some other minor styling tweaks.
The new Astra GTC 2.0 CDTi BiTurbo is the newest addition to the Astra line-up and is the most powerful non-VXR model in the range. The diesel engine produces 192bhp and 258lb-ft of torque, making for a 0-62mph time of 7.8 seconds and a top speed of 139mph. CO2 emissions are reasonable at 139g/km and the GTC will return 53.3mpg on the combined cycle.
Buyers will also be able to choose from a raft of new gadgets which have been made available across the range, including lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, follow distance indicator and forward collision alert.
Prices for the new Astra hatchback and Sport Tourer remain the same and the Astra GTC is available to buy from £21,595 OTR, rising to £23,925 for the BiTurbo diesel.
