Toyota have announced launch details for their brand new GT86 model, hinting that they could be set to offer cash-strapped British consumers a much needed boost.
The vehicle is already available for pre-order, but will be officially launched on the 1sty of July.
Seeing double
Two versions of the unique vehicle are available, with the manual version available at £24,995 and the six-speed automatic coming in at £26,495.
The vehicle is powered by a 197bhp, four-cylinder boxer with a front-mounted 2.0-litre engine and rear wheel drive, giving it a ‘classic sports car set-up’ according to Toyota.
A switchable VSC stability control system is among the most unique safety features on the model, offering drivers the ability to choose from three driving options to suit individual driving styles. Uniquely, the vehicle also has seven airbags, including a driver’s knee airbag.
Drivers can choose from seven exterior colours. These include Pearl pearlescent, Dark Red, Orange metallic, Silver metallic, Black metallic, Blue metallic and Dark Red metallic. The GT86 also comes with black cloth upholstery as standard across all vehicles.
There is also the option to add a red leather styling detail on the parking brake, door grips, steering wheel and gear knob.
The vehicle boasts limited slip differential, dual-zone climate control, sports seats, bi-xenon headlights and 17-inch alloys.
Other features include a touch-screen control system for controlling the six-speaker audio system, Bluetooth for phone connection/music streaming and a USB port, demonstrating that the car is in tune with the modern day.
Front fog lamps, electric folding door mirrors, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, cruise control, hill-start assist and scuff plates are also available on this unique car.
Drivers can choose to upgrade to the Toyota Touch and Go which, in addition to satellite navigation, includes ‘advanced functions’ such as on-board connection to Google Local Search (via subscription).
This feature will offer drivers access to detailed information on weather conditions, live parking and fuel price information.
