TomTom have released a navigation device specifically designed for camper and caravan motorists.

With this new TomTom software, motorists behind the wheel of a camper, caravan, van and trailer will be able to drive in the knowledge that the best route for their vehicle as well as the expected arrival time will be outlined for them.

The system takes a number of different characteristics into consideration that might have an impact on the ETA. These include the vehicle's size, weight and maximum speed.

"Many customers have been in touch requesting navigation designed specifically for their camper or caravan," says Marielke Nieuwerth-van den Akker, TomTom Product Manager.

"The launch of the GO LIVE Camper & Caravan puts an end to unnecessary detours and unwanted surprises. Not only does it calculate the very best routes, it is also a great source of relevant information on the journey."

Handy features

Aside from featuring tailored routes, the navigation software also comes with the so-called Points of Interest services, which will be useful for drivers of larger vehicles as it gives information on camper and caravan sites/services.

The device comes with maps covering up to 45 European countries, hands-free calling and Advanced Lane Guidance, which provides drivers with help at difficult junctions.

Thanks to the voice command and control, motorists will be able to navigate using only the sound of their voice.

The system also includes handy features such as one year FREE LIVE Services, which provides access to a range of services including TomTom Weather, TomTom HD Traffic, Local Search with Google, Search & Go with TripAdvisor and Expedia, and destination sharing with Twitter.
The TomTom GO LIVE Camper & Caravan costs £349.99.
