Suzuki has announced that they are to add a new, frugal 1.3-litre DDiS model to the Swift range.
From 1 June a new Swift model will be available to buy in the UK. The Swift DDiS will come with an economical 1.3-litre engine that delivers power of 74bhp with a combined fuel consumption of 67.3mpg and lowered CO2 emissions of 109g/km.
As a five door car with Suzuki’s SZ3 trim the new Swift DDiS will be priced at £12,890. This comes with a standard equipment list which includes air conditioning, a full set of seven airbags, 16 inch alloy wheels, USB port and electric door mirrors.
The new Euro 5 emissions turbo charged engine has been made smoother and more responsive for the new DDiS car, delivering a maximum torque of 140lb-ft from 1,750rpm through the whole of the rest of the range. It can accelerate from 0-62mph in 12.7 seconds and boasts an 8% improvement in fuel economy and 9% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to the 1.3-litre diesel engine which was used in the previous Swift car.
The new DDiS fits into a Swift line-up which starts with an entry level Dual VVT 1.2-litre petrol engine with SZ2 trim and three door body for £10,210, and goes up to £13,525 for a five door, automatic transmission model with SZ4 trim.
