The new city car will be available from 1st July.
Citroen launched the C1 in 2005 and since then it has sold over 780,000 models around the world. The latest C1 aims to provide everything that a city dweller needs and will come in a variety of forms. They will offer the recognisable 3 and 5 door hatch options as well as a model with an open top which they will name the Airscape.
Citroen have worked hard to maximise space inside what is essentially a very small car. It measures up as 3.46m long, 1.62m wide, 1.46m tall but despite its minimal dimensions it claims to carry four adults and has 196 litres of boot space.
More technology has been crammed into the new models in response to increasing consumer demand for gadgets and interactivity. This will include a touch drive interface which will give drivers the ability to use smartphone apps through the car’s screen.
The French manufacturer say that they have optimised the running costs of the new C1. It will run at up to 74.3mpg on a combined cycle and emit 88g/km of carbon dioxide.
Prices will start at £8,245 up to a maximum of £11,935. Three trim levels will be available known as Touch, Feel and Flair. The Airscape model will be available in Feel and Flair trims.
