Suzuki has updated its Splash city car for 2012.

On the outside, the Splash gets new front and rear bumpers and a new bonnet and grille design, and Suzuki has introduced a new exterior colour -- Sparkling Blue metallic.

On the inside, Suzuki has given the Splash updated seat fabric and a Piano Black finish to the centre console. The front door armrests are now trimmed in black cloth too.

The Splash's engine range remains the same with both 1.0-litre 3-cylinder and 1.2-litre 4-cylinder engines available. The smaller of these units returns a combined 60.1mpg and emits just 109g/km of CO2, putting it under VED band B.

There are five models in the Splash range -- the 1.0-litre engine is available on both the SZ2 and SZ3 and the 1.2-litre unit comes in both the SZ3 and SZ4 models. An optional automatic gearbox is also available on the SZ4.

All Splashes come with four airbags, a CD/MP3 player, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, remote central locking, front electric windows, and electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors as standard.

The new Splash is on sale now, priced from £7,777.
