Subaru has confirmed that the Impreza will be going back on sale in the UK from the beginning of May, following the model's disappearance from Subaru price lists last year.
Subaru pulls the plug on Impreza and WRX STI
Just one engine will be available with the new Impreza -- a 1.6-litre flat-four boxer engine, developing 112bhp and 111lb-ft of torque. Both a five-speed manual and a CVT gearbox will be offered, and with the former, the Impreza will get from 0-62mph in 12.3 seconds and on to a top speed of 114mph.
The manual model will return 44.1mpg and emit 147g/km of CO2, while the fitment of the CVT improves this to 46.3mpg and 140g/km. Fuel economy and emissions have been improved by the inclusion of start-stop as standard.
Subaru claims the Impreza is the only C-segment car to offer all-wheel drive as standard on every model.
Just one trim level will be offered in the UK: RC specification. This includes automatic lights and wipers, front fog lamps, power-folding heated door mirrors with built in LED indicators, a windscreen wiper de-icer system, 16-inch alloy wheels, a tyre repair kit and daytime-running lights.
Inside, dual-zone air-conditioning is included as standard, along with heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, USB and aux-in sockets, a reversing camera and 60/40 split-folding rear seats.
Three exterior colours will be on offer: Satin White, Ice Silver and Quartz Blue.
Prices for the new Impreza will start from £17,495 for the manual and £18,995 for the CVT.
