Japanese car manufacturer Subaru has announced pricing and additional details about the new All-Wheel Drive Crossover XV.

The entry level 1.6i S model is priced at £21,295 from a total of eleven different models available.

The XV has a five star Euro NCAP certificate, which Subaru claim makes it the safest vehicle in its class: the vehicle performs well for child occupant safety in particular. Subaru’s XV features the highest ground clearance and lowest centre of gravity in class, making it a highly capable performer both on and off road.

All XVs in the range come with symmetrical all-wheel drive and a Boxer engine. Three Euro V-compliant Boxer engines are offered with the new XV: 1.6 and 2.0-litre petrol, and 2.0-litre diesel. The 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre petrol engines develop 112bhp and 148bhp respectively. The 2.0-litre diesel produces 145bhp and 258 lb-ft.

The XV reaches 60mph in 9.3 seconds and the 2.0 diesel XV offers fuel economy of 50.4mpg on the combined cycle, while emitting 146g/km of CO2. Whatever model of XV car buyers choose the following features are fitted as standard: ABS, traction control, Subaru Vehicle Dynamics Control (SVDC), front, side, curtain and knee airbags, 17-inch alloy wheels, daytime LED running lights and automatic air conditioning.

All 2.0-litre models are fitted with roof rails. SE models benefit from the addition of the following features: cruise control, rear-view camera, Bluetooth functionality and USB/iPod connectivity.

For those looking for a premium experience the top-of-the-range SE Lux Premium models also come with a sunroof, Keyless Smart Entry, push-button start, leather seats and satellite navigation.

Pricing for the new XV range starts at £21,295 for the 1.6i S model and rises to £29,995 for the 2.0D SE Lux Premium.
